Disciplinary Workshop – Practical Disciplinary Skills
This practical 6 hour workshop is split into two sections.
Part 1 – How to investigate and prepare a management case
This will equip you with the skills and competencies required to successfully investigate disciplinary matters, conduct investigation meetings and prepare a management case. This workshop is most appropriate for Head Teachers, Managers and Governors. The course will cover:
- Practical considerations for investigation meetings and initial action;
- How to best build a case for disciplinary action;
- How to manage procedure fairly and properly.
Part 2 – How to prepare for and manage the disciplinary process
This will equip you with the skills and competencies required to manage disciplinary action successfully through each stage of the disciplinary process. This workshop is most appropriate for Head Teachers, Managers and Governors. The course will cover:
- Preparatory steps to undertake prior to a hearing;
- Essential ingredients of a fair hearing and procedural considerations;
- What to focus on when coming to a decision;
- Overview of litigation risks.
Time: 9.30 am – 4.30 pm (lunch and refreshments will be provided)
